Their story according to McKee:
“I had a good feeling about Luke when we met for drinks at Monty’s in Coconut Grove. We instantaneously clicked! Luke likes to say he snatched me up before anyone else had a chance as our first date was on the first Friday I lived in Miami!
We spend most of our free time fishing in the Everglades or offshore in the Keys. On this particular Sunday, we had been offshore fishing for sailfish with friends all day and were on our way back to land. We had just slowed down to pass through a mangrove creek as Luke started to talk about how much fun he had with me that day and how impressed he was in how far I had come in my fishing. I responded explaining how I really enjoyed being on the water with him. He then asked if I would like to “do it forever” and dropped down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever seen! He was shaking and we both teared up as I said yes! Our friends were able to capture the entire proposal and we cherish the photos!”
The two got married on a lovely spring day at Thalatta Estate surrounded by their family and closest friends. They mentioned to me that buried some bourbon on the property a few weeks before (a southern tradition to bring good weather), and it definitely worked! Mckee and Luke and some of the kindest, genuine people I have ever met and I was so honored to be a part of their wedding day.
