If trees dripping in Spanish moss, historic architecture, and southern cuisine tickle your fancy then you will love Savannah, Georgia. Historic cities have a special place in my own heart and I just knew that I was going to love visiting Savannah. It’s just 6 hours from home in Florida and the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. As I was advised, I parked the car and wandered the streets, camera in hand, stopping to dine here and there along the way. Here are some snippets from my wanderings.

I popped in for a cup o joe a few times over the course of my weekend visit.The Paris Market was described to me as Pinterest come to life. I personally would describe it as a Anthropologie-esque cafe/gift shop/home decor store. Eye candy and mouth candy for dayyyys.Night stroll along River Street.The Olde Pink HouseLocated outside of of downtown Savannah, Wormsloe Historic Plantation is beautiful avenue of oaks dripping with tufts of Spanish moss.Lunch at Green Truck. They do local farm-to-table burgers and beers and are located in a renovated Arby’s.Cathedral of St. John the BaptistWormsloe
I received so many recommendation to eat at The Collins Quarter. I popped in for dinner to try the tacos and they were amazing! My only regret is that I didn’t get to try more things on the menu. I’ve heard great things about their avocado toast.Just south of Savannah is the quaint Isle of Hope. According to Wikipedia “the island is one of the most affluent communities in the state and is well known for its historic plantations and exclusive waterfront properties.”On a whim I wandered in to Savannah Bee Company for some honey tasting. One taste of the cinnamon whipped honey and I knew a jar of it needed to come home with me. The good news is, I can order more online when I run out!Savannah’s iconic Talmadge Memorial Bridge
